A European aeronautical manufacturer created in 1970, Airbus is an international benchmark in the aeronautics and space sector. Their activities range from the design of devices to their supply, through the production and assembly of parts.
The daily grinding and adjustment operations before assembly generate numerous inhalable and explosive particles.
Chromium VI (= hexavalent) is an extremely toxic product, classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic, which can be accumulated in the liver, kidneys, thyroid gland and bone marrow. It causes among others, respiratory disorders, inflammations of the mucous membranes, lung and sinus cancers.
For Airbus, the objective was therefore to fight against occupational diseases and the risk of explosion due to dust generated on an aeronautical sub-assembly production line by the installation of several suction stations.
